Cosmoprof Report

As last year, I went to Cosmoprof with my sister. But this year I forgot to bring my camera, because I am a shitty blogger. So all pics you see besides the last one have been taken with my cellphone.
I didn't request a blogger pass, so I just enjoyed the day with her. I went there on monday hoping to find less chaos and more discounts. I was kinda wrong on the first of these because there were so many people! More than I had expected, to be honest. And kids, despite being it theoretically only for +14. Who the hell brings their kid to such a place is beyond my understand.
Anyway, a lot of other great bloggers wrote lengthy articles about the new upcoming products and limited editions, so I am only writing my humble impressions here.
The pavillion 34 has always some nice surprises and confirmations. I left my heart at the Manic Panic booth, I really wanted the teal lipstick and another cross gloss, but I ended up getting only the pressed powder identical to the one I already own and have almost finished.
At BB Cream Italia I got a Make Up Revolution palette (Give Them Nightmares) and a liquid matte lippie in a wonderful violet, kinda similar to the Electric Amethyst shade by MP but matte. Ah, I really wanted a matte lippie in that color, I'm so glad I found it! I kinda wish I had gotten another one too, I already tried it and it feels soft and wonderful, it's not lip drying at all! I went back to their booth before leaving, but there was almost nothing left, and in terms of Make Up Revolution liquid lipsticks there was only the shade I had already purchased (Depraved) and a hot pink. I would have gotten the red.
We also visited the Nations pavillion, where at Flormar I got some square cotton pads and a hand cream. The hand cream's inci isn't exactly great, but for 2 euros I can't really complain. We also visited the Nyx booth, where I drooled over the macaron lipstick and discovered that no, they don't sell on monday. Last year we were told they would sell on monday, so shame on you Nyx, either your sales assistants are ill informed or you're a liar.
In the Nails pavillion I got a couple Orlys - the ones you see in the picture, the shades are Lunar Eclipse and Tropical Pop - and the Essie polish you see, from the new autumn range, a cashmere matte shade. It's my first Essie!
On a second note, why does the nail pavillion always has such loud and blaring music? It's like being at a disco. The Color Club booth was tempting but the prices were not low at all - like Opi, they didn't discount their products so much, and I got nothing from them in the end.

Shoot out to the Essence booth that had a very cute vending machine: you inserted a "Beauty Dollar" coupon given for free at their booth and you could choose a new polish for you (for free)! They had to refill it quite often, believe me!
In terms of free samples we were given a free shampoo with a fragrance of our choice by Davines and a super cute shopper with some hair treatment samples by Amika. And Manic Panic gave us pens and keychains, and we also got a sticker and sticky pads. At this point I own a ridiculous amount of MP merchandise, probably more than the people who work there.
I am satisfied of my haul, quite frankly I came there mostly for shopping and to enjoy a day with my sister, I had not seen her for months, not even spent an entire day with her!

( I will load the pics from my phone as soon as I can, obviously the bluetooth isn't working)

Latest purchases

I can finally show you pictures! Yay! And what's better than showing you what I bought lately?
It's not properly a haul, since not everything was bought on the same shopping trip, but still...

The Catrice nail polish is 04 Artful Red, from the Viennart LE. I'm gonna try it this evening, so be ready for a review! The silver one of this LE was also promising, but I only got the red for now.
The foundation is Pupa Made To Last in Ivory (lightest shade) and I got it with the special 10 euros coupon (so I paid 10 euros something that costed almost 20, a real bargain) and I am absolutely loving it, it feels wonderful, lighweight despite the very good coverage and it's really great. I'm not a foundation expert but I could post a review of it as well.
The brush is from H&M, and I am loving it, I use it to apply the Pupa foundation and it works perfectly.
The two Kiko products were the result of an afteroon with my boyfriend, the 30% discount coupon and a lot of patience and help from him xD I ended getting only two products, even if I initally had four of them in my hands. I have chosen the eyeliner in the colour 107, because it was (and is) an important element in my makeup routine and I used it so much that I finished one (I never finished a black eyeliner, for comparison). Whenever I don't know what to wear I choose it, maybe paired with a blue mascara as well. I think it compliments my eyes fairly well and it's really long lasting.
The eye pencil is from the Daring Game LE, I've been craving it since the first time I saw this LE, which was in august, so I waited quite a lot! The shade is 29, Irresistible teal. I can't wait to wear it, since I've been rediscovering the beauty of a dark eye makeup.
I don't have much makeup here yet, I plan on bringing more of it when I go back at my parents' next weekend. I am definitely in need of some brushes!
That's all for now!
Bought anything interesting recently?

Essence Haul

A mini Essence haul! Reviews of the single products coming soon.
For now I can show you I what I got. There were many Essence products that were tempting, but I ended up only getting the Lash Princess mascara, since I'm almost out of mascare and it came with a free eyeliner. Who am I to say no to a free eyeliner? The Lash Princess packaging is super cool.
I found the Hello Autumn display almost already ravaged, but there were still a couple of palettes. And these two polishes, which I took. So far, I've been loving them-the termo effect is far more visible on the brown one, and I suggest you don't miss it.
My boyfriend went on a small trip abroad (Slovenia) and I asked him to get me some thermo polishes. This was the only one left! I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
The liquid sand effect top coat was tempting, and I will probably get it someday. And the striping tape too.

Did you get anything new from Essence?

Holiday Haul

Woah, long time no write! But I really needed some holiday time, and I spent quite some time away from the computer. I spent a few days in London with my boyfriend, then a few days at his parents'.

Annd, this is what I got, make up-wise.
The MUFE Aqua Cream n 23, a green with golden shimmer, was purchased in a Sephora store in northern Italy. That store had so much stuff, compared to the ones where I usually go, that I didn't know where to start, especially due to the sales. The Aqua Cream was in fact on sale, for little more than 10 euros.
I've already worn it during a very long and hot train trip and it didn't smudge or fade. Perfection.
I've been in love with that Essence eyebrow set since I saw it on the website, disappointed by the fact that they didn't sell it in Italy. They do sell it in Slovenia, and during a trip to Qlandia (yes, the same mall where Aly from Maisenzasmalto went once) I just had to get it. I'm really satisfied, it's exactly what I needed.

But the Lond purchases, well, they're even more interesting. The Kryolan UV lipstick in blue is utter perfection, even if it needs retouching more often than a regular lipstick because, well, it's blue, so it's quite an unnatural color and mistakes are far easier to detect. Mixed with reds it will make great violets and purples. I already have a black and a white, with this blue I will be able to make so many pretty shades!
And it's pretty awesome all by itself.
The Sugarpill Charlotte eyelashes..ah, so splendid! Bought at Cyberdog with the Kryolan lipstick, since they were out of stock of the Heart Breaker palette (it will be mine, sooner or later *evil grin*), because I really wanted some Sugarpill for once. I haven't worn them yet but they're sooo pretty!
And finally, something I've been wanting for a long time! An OCC lip tar! Bought this in that labyritnth called Selfridges, in the shade Black Metal Dahlia. At least I think, there's no color indication over it.
Extremely pigmented and requires some time and patience to get it right, but it's worth the effort.
I have a thing for matte purple/violet lips, what can I say? This is why I got this MUA velvet lips in Kooky. And the quality, man, the quality! If you give it time do dry properly, it resists even a full meal. Really it's extremely long lasting and not lip drying at all!

That's all for now, no nailpolishes since they're not allowed in Ryanair flights.

Catrice Crushed Crystals 04 Oyster & Champagne and small haul

Aka: I swear I only went there to buy the nail base..

The backstory is kinda funny, because I stopped at Coin before an university lesson to buy the nail base that I had finished, but as soon as I saw the new Catrice products I freaked out a little and investigated everything, neglecting the Essence display. So I forgot to buy the base.
I did get, however, a sand polish, Oyster and Champagne of the Crushed Crystals (sand effect) line and a lip polish. The eyebrow lifter was intriguing and so one of the new palettes, but I decided to stick to these 2 for the moment.
You'll find the review of the Catrice polish at the end of the post, for the moment let me tell you that the lip polish (in Megan Fuchsia) is amazing. It really stays a lot, not 8 hours if you eat a main meal, but after lunch I still have a pleasant fuchsia stain on my lips, so the effect doesn't completely go away. It's not lip drying at all, it's soft as a lip gloss (but not sticky) and extremely pigmented. Recommended!

Today I went to OVS to get the nail base. They didn't have any new stuff, but Essence products were on sale and sadly there weren't any pigments left. I still got the base (yay!) and another sand effect polish, this time Essence 165 Here's My Number, which was on sale.

Catrice 04 Oyster and Champagne is a really pretty golden-rose liquid sand effect polish. It contains hex rose microglitter; it looks as if the base was soft gold and rose micro- and standard sized glitters have been added to it. It's very pretty, and discreet too. It shines beautifully under the light, so of course this morning was cloudy when I wanted to take the photos. I can't tell you anything about duration yet, but application was easy (I recommend 3 coats or a rose base) and it dried quickly, so no complaints!
It reminds me of the gold and pink polish of the Maybelline Brocades LE, the colors seem very similar, but since I couldn't find the Maybelline one anywhere, well, at least I have this.

Tried anything new from Catrice/ Essence? Bought anything on sale?

Mini haul Kiko & China Glaze

Hello everybody, feelin' the Christmas spirit? I hope so because Christmas is very near!
And there is 30% off-on-everything sale at Kiko. Now, could I go there and not buy anything? Of course not. I was extremely tempted by the stick blush, I'd love to try the format, but I'd wait for the after holiday sale. I got the Digital Nail Lacquer in green and a red lipstick. The Latex Like lipstick line is very beautiful, I mostly use matte colors and something shiny will be a nice change. I tried one that could be a "My Lips But Better"... and that's why I didn't buy it. I still don't see the point of something that's the exact same color of my lips. Should I need an office friendly shade I'd go for something wearable but visible.

And in the same shopping mall there's also the shop where i go for all my China Glaze needs, they've the limited editions too and the polish are always on sale. I had There's Snow One Like You in my wishlist and I didn't need to think twice: I can't resist special textured polishes. I also bought another thing that I won't show because I bought the same for a relative, and I don't want spoilers :P

Did you get anything in the Kiko sale? Do you plan to get somehing?

Urban Decay Smog nail polish & Essence new products haul

No, I don't have the whole Naked Nail Set... my sister does, but she didn't like this one, so she gave it to me.
A shimmery brown/bronze, very warm. It's almost a duochrome, under the light it shifts from brown to bronze to dark purple. I love this color, but it's not much pigmented, after three coats it still didn't offer the coverage I'd ask for. I think it would be better as a layering polish, since it did just a couple of days without topcoat before chipping. Certainly not a groundbreaking polish, and it would've been great if it had offered the same apocalyptic-proof resistance of, say, the UD pencils.

And now, to the Essence haul!

I have studied the Essence website when the new products were presented, and there were a couple of things I found worth trying. So when the Essence display was updated at Coin, well, I took the chance to test them:
Eye Sorbet in illuminating coconut: I had great hopes for this, but it's a bit too glittery and less whitey than I'd expect. It could make a good cream eyeshadow, but not an highlighter, unless you are going for a Twilight vampire look. I will post swatches as soon as I get back home.
Lashes Go Wild mascara: I can't wait to try this, the wand reminds me of Neve Cosmetics' mascara.
Glow In The Night topcoat:  This is going to be fun.
Sparkly Sand Effect in Hey, Nude! : I'm trying this right now! I've chosen it because it reminded me of an OPI polish. I'll post a review real soon!

Autumn supplies

It's raining! Looks like autumn finally is here! And I'm taking this chance to show you some new nice things, and celebrate the end of my exams!

I always carry with me a notebook to write ideas for my script and stories, and my old one is more than finished. I am really a pain in the neck when it comes to my personal notebook, I have to "feel" that it's the right one. This one passed the test! At Feltrinelli there's an entire official collection of products (notebooks, planners...) with Alphonse Mucha's prints. This one, the Zodiac, as always been one of my favourite.
The peacock glass bowl comes from Zara Home. I'm using it for my single eyeshadows so far, and it's incredibly beautiful.

Now, to the lipsticks! Artificial light makes the color a bit different, 'm sorry.
The first one is from the Rimmel By Kate line, the shade is 111 The Kiss of Life. It's a classic matte red with cold undertones ( a bit à la Lady Danger). A great color, very exaggerate. Dries the lips a bit.
The second one is actually a dark plum color (thanks flash and artificial light *facepalm*) from Deborah, part of the 24 Hours Power extreme long lasting lipstick series, shade 10.The finish is advertised as demi-matte, but on the lips it seems full matte: it's just a bit more metallic. The positive thing? it dries the lips significantly less. It's also very buildable, so if you're not a bold lipstick person, this could be a good choice, since its intensity varies a lot according to the number of layers.
P.S. Yeah, I'm in a lipstick mood... and I had those two for cheap, the first one for little more than 2 euros thanks to a 5 euro discount coupon and the second one for 3 euro in a Deborah brand store in the sales section.

Back from the holidays..

I haven't had proper holidays in years, you know, the kind of days you spend visiting cities and monuments with friends trying to see a great number of things in a short time... so I ended up being pretty tired!
I still had time to buy a couple of polishes:

The Orly polish was on sale, and I always wanted to try that brand. The color is a bit darker irl.
The S-he polish is for my sister, but I'd still like to try it.
I will not do a full mani with Orly Red Flare right now, because I already have an idea for another nail art. Plus, Red Flare is a fall/winter color, imho.

More Kiko sales

Kiko polishes are now at 1.50 euros! Including the Mirror ones and the Sugar Mat ones!

I already wanted the blue one so badly... and then there was the pink one...I can't wait to try the blue one!

p.s: here, these are the polishes I have here now that I'm at my parents...such a hard selection!

Matchpoint, Tribal Summer and Me & My Ice Cream

My sister was kind enough to phone me a week ago when she was in a Coin store, and for a good reasons: they had just put out the latest Catrice and Essence LEs and she asked me if I wanted something. Of course I did!

I remembered well that I wanted the shimmer pearls and the tip painters, then I added the lip balm because it seemed gorgeous. First impressions: the shimmer pearls smell like candy and the tiny box is so pretty, if I finish them I'm gonna keep it; the tip painters are going to be super useful, the lip balm also smells nicely and the color is very promising.

I'm not surprised Catrice went straight from Candy Shock to Matchpoint, but I really hope I find some Glamazona stuff, I definitely want the crocodile gold top coat and perhaps something else. Anyway, I'm so glad my sister found this stuff, especielly considering how many people wanted the shimmer pearls, I wasn't even hoping anymore to find them!

Kiko sales haul

I also have a nail polish related post to show you, don't worry... but since Kiko sales are great and things tend to disappear quickly, I thought a small review of my latest purchases was in order.

I bought the blush in 100 Marine Coral and the cream eyeshadow/eyeliner in 02 Sunset Coral. Corals everywhere!

Let me start with the blush, because it's ironical that I love so much a blush part of a summer, tan-centered LE. I first saw this blush when the sales just started, and I liked it but wanted to think about it a little bit. Then I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I bought it.
It's suprisingly soft and perfect for pale skins. It's a bit dusty, the first time I applied it with a brush I was kinda worried, but it doesn't affect the use. The colors seem very shiny and glittery but are very soft on the face, definitely not something exaggerate and I love this fact. You can use all the colors together or pick just one or two, the colors are big enough for you to choose just one. I use the two darker colors together then apply the lighter one to soften the effect and correct mistakes. The lighter shades makes also a great highlighter. I love the effect of this blush, it's soft, doll-like.
I've read reviews that depicted it as very easy to break, and I sadly think it's true. Not the packaging, but the product itself. I'd recommend care when travelling, besides that I'd say it's a must have.

Vote: A

From left to right: lightest shade, pink shade, peachy shade and the three blush shades mixed, eyeshadow.

As I was saying before, when Kiko stuff goes on sale and you're looking for something, you better search in different shops. A shop might have plenty of a product that's finished in other shops, and I saw this eyeshadow/eyeliner for the first time on monday, when I went there just for the blush. I tried it on my wrist, and so did my boyfriend... only to be horrified by how it spreaded and seemed impossible to remove, and acted like an astronaut who just touched an Alien egg. This eyeshadow really stays and stays and stays and really, you need a make up remover that's effective on waterproof products to remove it. The color is super pretty, a pink/golden duochrome... also, my first cream eyeshadow! I will probably use this mostly as eyeliner...mmh, I'll see. I haven't tried it on my eyes so I can't give it a vote.

Quick post: Kiko haul

It's no mystery that Kiko polishes are now on sale for 2.50 euros..
But now the polishes from the Mirror and Sugar Mat LE are on sale! What a pity, said no polish addicted ever.

My picks: 640 Poppy Red ( I can't wait to try this one!) and Sky Blue 624, for my stamping needs!
They also look nice together...

Mini Essence Haul and Reviews

I've been away for a few days around Valentine's day, and I was pleased to come back and see my blog had a lot of visits especially on Valentine's day, that was unexpected, so thank you!

I have many things to post about, let's start with my small Essence haul: some Essence products will be discontinued and were on sale, so I bought the two Colour3 polishes I wanted and a nail polish from the Snow Jam LE. I had to celebrate the end of exams, after all.

A Walk in the Park + Stop for an Ice Cream, Life is a Freeride, Midnight Date + The City that Never Sleeps.

And, since I was in a good mood, I tried them all the same afternoon:
This is two coats of Midnight Date, A Walk in the Park, Life is a Freeride.
The two Colour3 polishes with their assigned top polish, and, you can barely see it, an experiment with Midnight Date and Stop for an Ice Cream: mixing the tops was fun!

...and everything went matte! Life is a Freeride looks so splendid! I am really happy with those polishes, if you still find something in stores, buy'em. I've read of people complaining for Essence's new brushes, but I think they're really good to work with.

Review: They all get an A! Especially if you consider that the Colour3 polishes were at 1.19 euros each..

Stay tuned for details, tomorrow I'll post my Valentine's Day nails and the special gift I received..it's nail related!

Holo haul

Surprise! Another post! I did some shopping at Kiko.
If you say that you can resist sales, you're lying!

I went to Kiko with my sister and bought the Sensuous Burgundy eyeshadow palette from the fall collection, that you see in the lower pic and my first holo polish, the 399, a beautiful taupe. My sister tried it and decided she wanted the darker one, a sort of dark grey /gunmetal shade. This morning I went back to Kiko..and bought one for myself too! There were just 2 left, that's a sign of destiny! I can't wait to try them... but I sorta want to keep the taupe one for Valentine's day.

And look at the palette isn't it pretty? Those are my daily colors... can't wait to try this one.
