Magical girl transformation nails

Why yes, I did wait too much to take a pic of this nail art, resulting in some chipping in the index.
Besides that, I created this nail art using the Sailor Moon transformation sequences as inspiration source, I wanted to create that bubbly gradient effect.
I used Revlon Ginger Melon again, because it's a great color, with Kiko 830 as a gradient color. I used Kiko 617 and Galscosmetics stamping plates to draw the bubbles on it.
And I topped everything with Seche Vite, ofc.
I really love the colors on this one!

Kiko 617

I know it's old, I know it's discontinued. But look at how beautiful it is! I've used it countless times for stamping, and never on my nails directly. And wow, I love how it looks, my nails look like blades.
A bit streaky, getting a perfect application is not easy, but it could have been worse. But I am overall satisfied. Yes, it's not a "mirror" in the sense you can see yourself in it, but it's shiny and beautiful. My nails look like steel and I see nothing wrong with it.

Textured Triangles

Hello everybody! I have discovered I love OPI's Don't Talk Bach To Me everyday a little more. It's the perfect formula, the perfect finish, the perfect shade of pistachio/acid green. It's a perfect fall/winter shade.
I paired it with another personal fave, a Wjcon sand effect polish, n. 804. It has green/blue reflections so it's perfect! The silver line is Kiko 617.
A bit of texture play is always fun.

A multichrome experiment

I've had this mani in my to do list for a while, so I'm happy to have it finally done.
The base is Pupa 209, and the top coats are Deborah 102 for the blue/greenish parts...and a very old L'Oréal Jet-Set polish for the orange/green ones.. It belonged to my sister, and despite being very old I never threw it away, due to its mighty duochrome powers. I kept it thinking to use it for paintings and art, but how could I resist using it on my nails? It looks like some certain high-end duochrome top coats.
It's really old (I wouldn't be surprised to find out it's 10 years old) but still works magnificently.
It has more duochrome fleckes than the Deborah one, and they're bigger overall: one coat of it was enough, while I had to apply 2 covers of the Deborah one to have a better coverage.
The silvery line is Kiko 617.

Pupa Iridescent Nail Polish 001 & 002- Cosmic Beauty LE review

I picked those two beauties at La Gardenia, where they offer a 40% discount on the second product you buy of the same or lower price. Also, those polishes cost 3.50 euros each, so I ended up paying little more than 5 euros for two polishes: not bad, if you consider that the recommended retail price for those is 5.95 euros on the Pupa website..

I was sure I was going to love 002 Iridescent Blue, but I ended up loving 001 Iridescent Silver more.

002 is surely beautiful: a duochrome that goes from blue to violet/purple. The color is intense, really reminiscent of galaxies. 001, however, is stunning: a multichrome with a silver base that shifts from light oilive green to purple. If you look at it very closely it looks like it has micro-holographic particles or something like that (002 has them, but they're less visible). This is Catrice's Iron Mermaiden as it should have been. It's going to make a great F/W polish. It can also be an office-friendly ladylike shade. So if you should buy just one, I'd say buy 001, and this is really weird from me, because peacock-like colors like 002 are usually a must have for me.

Now, to the problems: application is meh. Used to the flawless application and formula of last year's fall LE (remember, the China Doll one?) polishes, I was a bit disappointed by those. 002, especially: the formula is thick and dense, and the brush seemed unable to carry enough color to cover the nail fully, resulting in a streaky effect and zones of your nails where the color didn't apply just right. I was using a basecoat, my trusty Essence one. Make sure you file your nails and hide the lines on them, those colors make them super visible.
The coverage could be better, I was expecting them to be one coaters, but they're not. Still better than Catrice's Iron Mermaiden.
The formula of 001 is slightly better than 002. I wonder if I had an unlucky bottle (that had been opened before) or that's the standard for the line.
I can't wait to try stamping on/with them.

Would I recommend them?
001 for sure, 002 I'm not sure. It really saddens me to say so, because they look very pretty in the bottles and really have a galaxy/cyber effect. This depends on you, wheter if you are ready to forgive a not so great application for a pretty color. If you can get them for a lower price than 5 euros, they're worth a try.

The Great Nailsby

Another thing I should specify on my personal info: I have a horrible sense of humor.
Anyway, I'm going  to see the Great Gatsby this evening, so i recreated an old Art Deco nail art I did last winter...with an addition.

Glitter! 'Cause there's no party like a Gatbsy party. Until people die and everybody is disillusioned with the jazz age as a whole, you know.

The gold base is Catrice's Genius in the Bottle, a dupe of Chanel Peridot. Sort of a duochrome, with not much visible green/light blue hues. Still gorgeous. Other polishes: Essence Stamp Me! Black and Kiko 617.
The glitters are OPI's The Living Daylights.

Printed Circuit Nails

To celebrate the fact that I've finally red Neuromancer, I did some printed circuit-inspired nail art.
The green is Essence's A Walk in the Park and the silver is Kiko 617. I struggled for a few days to find a nice cyber pattern to do, and then my boyfriend had the right idea suggesting me this pattern that was on a stamping plate from the galscosmetics set.
Perhaps I should have added more details, such as red dots, and some of the squares colored in black and copper... but I preferred to keep it simple.

Stamping with Kiko 617

A few days ago I was at my parent's, spending my saturday afternoon studying german literature and my mom came back from her walk and handed me Kiko 617, that she had just bought for me.
She had seen the Mirror Nail Lacquer promo on the kiko window and thought they were beautiful, so she bought me that one hoping I didn't have it already. I didn't, and had already planned to get at least the copper and silver one of that collection, since the quality is great and they stamp perfectly. It was such a nice and unexpected gift!

Guess what, I will not need to buy the silver one. 617 is actually taupe, but stamped it doesn't make much difference, it looks like silver.

I stamped it with Gals stamping plate n 33 over three coats of Essence's Take a Ride on Pegasus from the old Fantasia LE.


Anyway, if you came here to find out if  Kiko 617 is a good polish the answer is yes! And, like the gold one, it stamps perfectly! Vote: A

Anomaly Nails + mini haul

I missed the time when I did something more than just apply nail polish on my nails, so I decided to try something more elaborate. My inspiration comes from a videogame, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, set in the Chernobyl exclusion zone with radioactivity, monsters and misterious artifacts. The game takes inspiration from one of my favourite novels, Roadside Picnic, and from the movie Stalker.
But, onwards to the nails, or I could just talk about this for ages.
The radiation symbol needs no explanation, and the biohazard one was done as a challenge to see if I could draw something so intricate without my favourite nail art brush on my smallest nail, and I'm quite satisfied of the result. The ring finger hosts a caviar mani: it was a weird feeling to have those really small beads on the nail, but not bad. Unfortunately it's not much long lasting, after 2 or 3 days the beads were all gone. Perhaps I should have pressed them on the fresh coat of polish more, who knows, I'll try it again sometime.
I wasn't much happy of the black polish that came with the caviar mani kit because of the brush, that imho was a bit too small... but the brush of the yellow polish by Essence was really big and perfect (also a good polish, one coat would have been enough).

Products used: Pupa Bubbles Manicure kit in black, Essence 118 Little Miss Sunshine, Super Red by H&M, Kiko Rock Top 612 (you can barely see it, sigh), Essence nail art soft touch (matte top coat), Essence quick dry topcoat.

 I've read good reviews of the Limoni store brand polishes, but never tried them. So yesterday I was in front of a Limoni store and decided to see if there was something interesting. And so it was! There is a special offer, 3 polishes for 4.99 (one polish is 3.99) so I realized it was sign of destiny and I had to try them. The first one I noticed is the shimmery blue one, that according to the light varies greatly, and you can see its violet hues under the right light... I'm trying this today for a gradient mani!
The other ones are a very light shimmer silver and a beautiful shade of red.. I've already planned something for those two...
