Camellia petals nail art

In my parents' garden there's a camellia (in Italy known simply as camelia), and last week the flowers had opened their petals in all their magnificence. Our camellia makes fuchsia and rose with fuchsia stripes flowers, like the image above kindly supplied by Wikipedia, because I forgot to take a picture of our own. As pretty as they are, they last only a few weeks, sometimes even less, which is a real pity. When I was a kid I used to play with those flowers a lot, because when they're fully open they weigh too much and fall from the plant, especially when they're already decaying. Sometimes they just lose petals, so that part of the garden is filled with petals in a very fairy-like atmosphere.
This is my tribute to those petals, done with Kiko 284 (I had forgotten the amazing quality of this polish!) and Essence's fuchsia tip painter over Ben & Cherries from the Me & My Ice Cream LE. It really looks like the real thing, so I'm quite satisfied with it!

Nymphaea Nail Art

A few days ago I was at the park looking at the lake: I had seen something on the surface of the water and thought there were nymphaeas, but alas, they were only dead leaves.
I also thought that a nymphaea nail art would have been fun and easy, so I tried! It looked way better in my mind but who cares, it's still eye-catching and funny.

I used Essence Life is a Freeride as base color, did the leaves with Kiko 296 and the flowers with Kiko 356, 375 and 203. The top coat is Essence Quick Dry top coat.

Citrus nails

I said I would have tested that Mavala polish duration on my nails without topcoat, and I did. It lasted only 2 days then it chipped on my index, always the first nail to go, and started showing some signs of tipwear... and I wasn't exactly stranded on a desert island neither was I forced to fight a T-rex with my bare hands, the only circumstances that would make such a short duration understandable. You see, I don't mind if a 2 euros or so Essence polish doesn't last a week, but Mavala polish are around 5 euros or more and for that I expect something more.  So I decided to add something to it...

I always wanted to try this kind of mani, and it's surprisingly easy to draw it. I used Kiko 356 (orange) and Kiko 203, that's meant to be a white for french mani so it has a small brush that comes really handy for nail art. Then one coat of topcoat.
It's certainly an eye-catching mani, and it reminds me of candy.
